Brook Berringer was a former American football quarterback who played for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was born on July 9, 1973, in Goodland, Kansas. Berringer joined the Cornhuskers in 1990 and played a key role as a backup quarterback to Tommie Frazier.
In 1994, Berringer became the starting quarterback for the Cornhuskers due to Frazier's injury. He led the team to an undefeated regular season and a berth in the national championship game. Berringer's performance was crucial in helping the Cornhuskers defeat the Miami Hurricanes to win the national championship.
Tragically, Berringer's promising football career was cut short when he died in a plane crash on April 18, 1996, at the age of 22. He is remembered as a talented football player and a beloved member of the Nebraska football community.
